About Taylor Stevens Salon:
Our Story……..it all started with “What’s your dream?, what are you passionate about?”.
These are the words Steve spoke to Andrea over 20 years ago, “If it will be good for our family, then I want you to go for it”. It wasn’t about opening a salon, but being a hairdresser. Andrea loved doing friends hair and makeup, and making them look their very best- always making them feel good about themselves- So, she enrolled at Piviot Point Academy and graduated at the top of her class. Andrea always connected to Aveda, Aveda’s mission and their products. After graduation, she knew she wanted to work in an Aveda salon. After several years of working behind the chair she wanted more. She wanted to educate and grow others to be successful and build an environment that was positive, beautiful and always growing. Her husband Steve, fully supporting her dream, said “Let’s do it”!, and so it began.
In March 2000, with a lot of sleepless nights and “sweat equity”, they open Taylor Stevens SalonSpa named after their only child Taylor and her husband Steve, who stood by her side every step of the way. After only a few weeks after opening the doors, her husband Steve left his construction job of 20 years, to help Andrea grow the business. Now, after 17 years, Steve works behind the scenes on the foundational part of the business and is a Business Coach for Strategies Salon & Spa Business Training & Coaching, where he works with salons all over North America. Steve works with our team to understand the business. “It’s all about working together as a true team to provide an extraordinary guest experience by having systems to produce consistency that provides our team success and growth”.
Andrea is an Aveda Global Mentor Haircolor Educator and travels the United States teaching advanced Haircolor to others in the Aveda network. Her passion is educating and developing her team to have the highest abilities behind the chair. Not only does she work with the team on growing their technical skills, but in all aspects of their growth as professionals in their craft. Andrea is also a Qnity Ambassador for her team, she helps them work on their goals and work towards work/life balance. Andrea is always on the forefront of education making sure she attends as much education, herself, bringing back what she learns to her team. Andrea and Steve also bring in top educators in all aspects of the beauty industry to help their team be the best they can be.
Their daughter Taylor has joined the team as a stylist after attending the Aveda Institute Chicago and now manages their Geneva Commons location, bringing another dimension to their family business. Together they look forward to growing the company and creating a working environment that pursues financial goals with work/life balance and give our guests the experience they come to expect at Taylor Stevens SalonSpa.
